Food & Wine, December 2017: Franciacorta
The moment I read the pitch, I knew immediately that I wanted to write about Franciacorta. How could there be an Italian sparkling wine I didn’t know about?! Designated by a denominazione di origine controllata (DOC), Franciacorta is more stringently managed than Champagne…and, for what it’s worth, infinitely more excellent than overproduced Prosecco.
